They did this and phoned me back immediately saying that the person I was dealing with would phone me by the end of the day. They then proceeded to tell me that their office would phone the person I was dealing with and request the papers. I relayed my story to them and they were sympathetic, but my investments weren't through their company. Then I decided that I didn't want to talk to a machine that didn't reply so I found a Sun Life Office in my area. I tried phoning again and requesting the papers. I needed the papers as I had to get my taxes in and I didn't want a fine from the gov't never mind paying them $40,000.00. I waited two days for a reply and nothing so I phoned again and again, every two days for 3 1/2 weeks, and still not reply. Then I waited over two weeks for the receipts to come in and nothing. Told me she would contact the department that should have sent the receipt ASAP. I phone to the person on the last correspondence I had received from them and she was very nice. My accountant told me that I should have received an official receipt from Sun Life or I would have to pay over $40,000.00 in taxes this year. My husband passed away and left his investments to me.
